Khap leaders join the campaign ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’
Khaps have till now known to be anti-girl, which we hear would not change. Khap leaders have now joined hands with Akhil Bhartiya Jaat Mahasabha to promote the popular PM Modi’s campaign ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and have vowed to work at village level in order to boost the scheme and improve the fate of girl child in India, especially in North India.
A parallel campaign by both the groups has been started at village level starting from the district of Bhiwani in presence of Khap leaders, ABJM and students. Such move would be welcomed by both respective departments at centre and the state level.
After this drive, a separate drive would be kick-started in order to discourage ‘drinking and driving’ in rural areas. The leaders of Jaat Mahasabha are quite upbeat about the entire thing and believe that such moves would only strengthen our social system.
The leaders of Khap and Jaat Mahasabha are committed to work in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in a recent release in Delhi said that they would leave no stone unturned to make both the campaigns a success.
On a positive note, if such smaller groups from villages can share the same vision as that of the central and state government and pledge to work hand in hand, the days are not far when there would be minimal requirement of government intervention in implementing such socio economic campaigns at grass root level.
If the support rendered by Khaps works out as we hope, more and more regional groups would certainly get motivated to join hands with the main stream governance.
