The Haryana State Government plans to celebrate the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme Day in upcoming 22th January of 2017
In Haryana the Ratio of boy and girl child is in high margin which is calculated as 1000:900 few years before. Mostly parents prefers male child instead of female child, because they feel that girls are burden for them, it’s not a new born myth, it prevails from ancient times. According to the parent’s mentality, they thought as they need to spend a lot of money for their girl’s marriage, where else it’s not the same scenario for boys. Also, there would be no use for them on educating girl child, owing that near about 90% families skip their girl child’s education after certain period. Because of that girls education rate is very low in the state of Haryana.
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme
To solve this problem the Government of India has launched the scheme Beti Padhao Beti Bachao, and to create awareness about the scheme among the Haryana people, the state government has planned to celebrate the Beti Padhao Beti Bachao Day which is set on January 22, 2017.
On the occasion of Beti Padhao Beti Bachao Day the CM of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar plans to start 22 new girls’ colleges in different districts. The scheme’s aim is to make girls independent in both socially and also financially by educating them.

Girls are still avoided in Haryana society, to be frank in majority of Indian states same story exists. Girls still not get the same rights as the boys have, gender based partialities are in exists in high level. It is considered that after marriage the girl child has no rights in their parents’ property, and also they play no role in improving family’s economic status. That’s the main reason behind the dropouts of girl child from schools.
