Haryana Government to Honor those supporting BetiBachaoBetiPadhao Campaign

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is one of the noblest campaign launched in India for the girl child.  There are specific states in India where sex ratio is alarmingly low and Haryana tops the list among such states.  It was high time that the central and state government does something for the girl child in such states.  The good news is that the state government has risen above all social dogmas and have started supporting campaigns for the girl child.

With its new initiative, the government of Haryana has declared that it would honor and recognize those individuals and groups who are supporting or are involved in supporting the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

Beti Bachao Beti Padao

The honor by the state government would be accorded at district and school level and this way the state government would be able to set up Girls Platforms in all the schools of the state.  This would in turn result to rising awareness among the masses and would be a step ahead in the campaign.

The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign literally means ‘Save the girl child and educate the girl child’.  Its aim is to address one of the most important issues of the state, i.e. to control the sex ration in the state through spreading awareness about role of women in building a better society.

One of the core reasons for alarming decline in sex ratio in the state is the mindset of masses about girl child.  According to old mentalities, girl child is a burden to the family and society and should be eliminated.  This mindset is socking and alarming for a civilized culture, whatsoever.

It is not only the responsibility of the state and central government to spread awareness about the role of women in building a good society but also the responsibility of social groups and each individual.  Until and unless each one in such state is aware of such important aspect of humankind, no government alone can make all the difference.
